Biodynamics is a holistic, ecological and ethical approach to farming, gardening, food and nutrition. Based on the insights of Dr Rudolf Steiner. Biodynamic farmers strive to create a diversified, balanced farm ecosystem that generates health and fertility as much as possible from within the farm itself.
Checking the inter row species of our sustainable vineyards
Hamish the winemaker son inspects some inter row grass species. Every aspect of the land is essential to biodynamic balance Inspiration is taken from Steiner's insights into social and economic life along with agriculture for the management and approach to our vineyards. Part of the Biodynamic process is the use of 'preparations' which are made up from fermented manure, minerals and herbs which are used to help restore and harmonise the vital life forces of the farm. A major part of our Biodynamic management is striving to work in cooperation with the subtle influences of the wider cosmos on the soils, plants and aminals on our vineyards.
